Hi Connie -

So glad we re-connected and flabergasted by your book.  You hooked me from the beginning.  As always, you said what needed saying.  Your insight, bravery, inteligence and chutzpah brought me to  tears and laughter.  You brought Delaware, Ohio back to life for me - it is great to know it still marches along.  My best to your family. I am very proud of you for writing such an honest book and demanding we all learn from your experience.  Thank you.  Hope to see you in Fl!

Connie, I know it took me a year (I know, shame on me) to get my nose in your book. At first, I didn't think I was in the right frame of mind to read it a year ago. I loved it!!! It made me laugh! It even made me cry. I cheered for joy. But most of all what your book gave me was renewed faith. I used to give to the American Cancer Society. Then, over the years, skeptism got in the way. I'd ask myself questions, like, where is that money acutally going? Why isn't there a cure by now? So for the 1st time, in so many years, I gave a donation. Thanks for writing about your trials & triumphs but most of all for renewing my faith in giving.

Connie... I've had your book sitting on my desk for about a year and I kept
putting it off.  Finally, about two weeks ago, I picked it up.  Once I started I
could not stop.  My friend, you have told your story superbly.  I laughed out
loud and I cried quietly.  You thrilled me and then you scared me.  You always kept my interest.  I had to know what was going to happen next.  Connie...thank you for writing this book.  I'm proud to know you.

Connie--wow!  It was great to hear you speak last week. And thanks to you, I spent the whole next day riveted to your book.  Tissues in hand from tears of laughing way too hard or crying along with you, I finished your book with a new admiration for you. You go girl! What an inspiration you are to those with cancer, showing them how to fight and stand up for yourself. I also loved your style of writing. Now I can't wait to read just a fun novel that you didn't have to endure so much pain to 'get the story'. I wish you and your family all the best and hopefully it won't be another 15 years before we meet up again!

Connie E. Curry. What a fabulous book! This woman is amazing. She is Super Woman! You will be sitting at the edge of your seat while you read this compelling memoir. From moment to moment, Connie tells us what she feels, how she pushes her way through to get the results she wants, how she stands up to her doctors, and how it's her way or no way. She is in constant battle from beginning to end. Should she shave her head or wear wigs? Should she trust this doctor or that doctor?
This book is not just a memoir, it is educational. It is a guide book of life with cancer. Learn the do's and don'ts during cancer chemo and clinicals.  Connie stubbornly pushed her way to life. She was told she had bone cancer throughout her body. Her tenacity for answers and knowledge of PET Scans saved her life. Her doctor had misdiagnosed her twice and the trust was broken.
Connie is a cancer survivor. Thank God! You must read this phenomenal story of a brave, courageous, smart and always stubborn woman. I love her!
God bless her and her husband. They along with their children had ups and downs, but they are a strong family unit. I would love to meet Connie and her family one day.
Don't miss reading this book if you haven't read it, buy! it now.

Hello Connie,
I was just thinking about you this morning. I was going to write to you to let you know that I gave your book to my best friend, Karen. After I told her about it and how great it was, she wanted to read it. As a matter a fact, you remind me a lot of her. She always said that if there was a woman that was a combination of her and I, that would be the perfect woman. The out going side of you is her and the caring and compassionate side of you is me. The three of us would probably all get along great.
I wanted to write to you to let you know how much I loved your book although I don't like that you had to write it to begin with. (Hope that made sense)
I am fortunate so far that no one in my family has had cancer, but I have many friends that do. I have lost a couple but most have SURVIVED! This book gives me the insight that I need to better understand what exactly they are going through. You can't walk in their shoes if you haven't been there yourself. I can just be there for them with love and support.
This is also a reference guide that would help me IF I ever needed help myself or if someone else I know would need further help in finding the right doctors and support. I THANK YOU FOR THAT AND FOR HAVING THE COURAGE TO WRITE IT!!!!
Take care of yourself.
GOD BLESS you and your family,
Elaine Helmick

Don't know if you have the results of your mammogram yet or not.   Been praying for good news for you.  Mine is due also, but haven't gotten my oncologist's go ahead yet.  That is needed here if you've had breast cancer previously.
Finished your book from cover to cover this time around.  It made even better reading than when I cherry- picked it at the hospital..lol.  All the insight you shared of your family and friends made me feel almost as if we sat talking at the kitchen table over a cup of coffee.  Knowledge and positive attitude...can't say enough about them, and your story helps drive that home.  Thank you again for sharing that with everyone in your book.
Wishing you the Best News,
Joyce

Hi Connie!  More power to ya, Girl!  I'm a fellow writer, and contributor to Ben Romero's books.  I had a bilateral mastectomy, although no cancer was present...long story, but I can relate to the emotional pain.  I've also known many breast cancer survivors. Times are changing, and more people (yes, men and women) are coming through it with renewed spirit!  Thank God for that, and for your bravery, humor, and survival!  Keep writing!!!  Always, Linda

Connie -
Your book was great!!  You have oversome many "bends in the road" but you have a great Dad and Mom, husband, daughter, granddaughter, sisters and a brother standing behind you with all the support they could and can give to you by pushing you upright when you bent over.  Alot of people were and are praying for you, Connie.

Hi Connie,
Lois passed on the e-mail to the old chat room mailing list and as a result I was privileged to hear your interview.  Thank you for your efforts, both in the interview and through your book, in bringing some awareness and education to breast cancer.  Hopefully you and I are the only ones on the e-mail list that have had or will have to deal with breast cancer, but statistics are weighed against that.
Your book is wonderful!  It is so close to the story I would tell if I had a gift of words they way you do. My oncology center is ordering several copies of your book to place in the waiting rooms and the chemo room.  I know it will be an attitude changer and a comfort giver to so many as they travel the path through cancer care.
I was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer in the fall of  2006 and was very fortunate to have an informative and supportive medical team from the oncologist, to the surgeon, to the chemo room nurses and the radiation techs.  Even the receptionist at the cancer center became a friend.  What little I knew about the disease and fighting it fit into a thimble with room to spare.    The lump was removed.  The lymph glands on the left side removed, and finally the breast removed when the lump reoccurred.  Chemo rendered me hairless except for my eyebrows and  36 radiation treatments gave me a beautiful patch of tan.  Treatment finished in April 2007 on my 62nd birthday and there have been no further indications of cancer.  It was the best present of my life!
The best of health and happiness,
Joyce

Connie, I picked your book up while you were at the funeral home. We were sorry to hear about Dave's dad. I know what you are all going through. I lost my mother in March. Anyway I can't stop laughing, crying or reading since I started your book. It is wonderful. You did it baby........... I know you will kick butt on that radio station but good luck anyway.  jackie
